11 Jul Nextant Aerospace Reaches Significant 400XTi Milestone
- 20% of In-Service Fleet Now Under Contract for 400XTi Remanufacturing Program
- Global Nextant 400XT/XTi Fleet Surpasses 100,000 Hours of Flight Time
- 400XTi Aircraft Now Operational and Certified in 13 Global Markets
CLEVELAND, OHIO, July 11, 2016 – Nextant Aerospace, which produces the 400XTi – the world’s only remanufactured business jet, announced today that the 400XTi program had surpassed several key program milestones related to market penetration and global operating experience.
“The 400XTi has reached a monumental tipping point in the marketplace,” stated Jay Heublein, Executive Vice President for Nextant Aerospace. “Of the approximately 550 applicable, in-service Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP aircraft, over 20% of the fleet is now contractually committed to the Nextant remanufacturing program. This statistic is made more significant when you consider the market backdrop surrounding the launch of the Nextant program.”
In addition, the global fleet of in-service 400XT/XTi aircraft has now exceeded an operational mark of 100,000 hours of flight time. The 400XTi fleet is a global fleet with aircraft now operating in 13 different countries around the world. “The aircraft has proven to be a reliable platform and in doing so, has validated the remanufacturing model,” stated Tony Kurpely, Director of Global Product Support for Nextant Aerospace. “We set out to design a product that could successfully operate in both private and commercial settings, and we have been very pleased to see the number of Nextant aircraft that fly in excess of 800 hours annually. This is a real testament for the operational strength of the plane.”
“Tipping point is truly an appropriate term for what we are seeing,” stated Mr. Heublein. “In addition to proving the strong presence of a global market place for remanufactured aircraft, the Nextant program has also set the gold standard for long term residual value for existing Beechjet/Hawker 400XP owners and operators. In choosing to remanufacture their aircraft, owners are able to transform their planes so they are competitive with any new clean-sheet design aircraft. However, they are doing so at a fraction of the cost associated with purchasing a different aircraft.” Mr. Heublein went on to state, “Nextant was launched with the idea that there was a better way to deliver the latest technology to an existing platform without passing on the cost associated with newly designed aircraft. The idea of aircraft remanufacturing has come a long way since certifying our first plane nearly three years ago. I believe the market is ideally positioned to see exponential growth in this segment.”
